"Not called! Did you say? Not heard the call, I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there. Then look Christ in the face-whose mercy you have professed to obey-and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world."
- William Booth -
"Someone asked, ‘Will the heathen who have never heard the Gospel be saved?' It is more the question with me whether we-who have the Gospel and fail to give it to those who have not-can be saved."
- Charles H. Spurgeon -

- J. Hudson Taylor -
"Any church that is not seriously involved in helping fulfill the Great Commission has forfeited its biblical right to exist."
- Oswald J. Smith -

"In the chronicles of the restoration of the Church, it will be noted that a time came when the saints ceased being satisfied with their song services, a time when the deepest longings of their hearts ascended beyond the sounds of shouts and hand clapping, a transitional time when pure worship began to carry them into the actual Presence of God.”
- Francis Frangipane -“Go after God regardless of the opinions of others. You came into this world alone, and you’ll leave alone. You’re responsible for your own spirituality.”
- Stephen Hill -“If I wished to humble anyone, I should question him about his prayers. I know nothing to compare with this topic for its sorrowful self-confessions.”
- C. J. Vaughan -“I fear I am growing more earthly in some things. Today I felt a difficulty in bringing in spiritual conversation immediately after preaching, when my bosom should be burning. Excused myself from dining…checked and corrected myself. Then this evening I again slid into worldly conversation. Let these things be corrected in me, O Lord, by the heart being more filled with the love of Jesus, and more ejaculatory prayer.”
- Robert Murray McCheyne -

"I have seen at different times, the smoke of a thousand villages-villages whose people are without Christ, without God, and without hope in the world...Oh, that I had a thousand lives, and a thousand bodies! All of them should be devoted to no other employment but to preach Christ to these degraded, despised, yet beloved mortals."
- Robert Moffat -
"A tiny group of believers who have the gospel keep mumbling it over and over among themselves. Meanwhile, millions who have never heard it once fall into the flames of eternal hell without ever hearing the salvation story."
- K. P. Yohannan -
"We talk of the second coming, half the world has never heard of the first."
- Oswald J. Smith -
"I am ready to burn out for God. I am ready to endure any hardship, if by any means I might save some. The longing of my heart is to make known my glorious Redeemer to those who never heard."

“In 1981 I received a message from God that said, ‘Soon, soon, soon. There will be a great revival in Argentina. Argentina will be Mine, says the Lord.’ Today, after many years, we see how almighty God has moved and continues to move my dear country toward the fulfillment of this prophecy. But we still have not seen all that God has prepared for this country.”
-Carlos Annacondia-
“The revival and the Holy Spirit of God have no age limits. Children, in Argentina, at the age of seven and eight enter into hospitals lay hands on the sick, and they are healed.”

The Holy Spirit fills New York:“The stages, as they passed through, stopped at the hotel, and so powerful was the impression in the community, that I heard of several cases of persons that just stopped for a meal, or to spend a night, being powerfully convicted or converted before they left the town. Indeed, both in this place and in Rome (New York), it was a common remark that nobody could be in the town, or pass through it, without being aware of the presence of God; that a divine influence seemed to pervade the place, and the whole atmosphere to be filled with a divine presence.”
-Charles Finney-
As we left off last week in part one, the conversion of Charles Finney was the biggest shock to ever hit the community of Adams, New York. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit was so powerful that before long, the whole community was in revival. The whole surrounding area seemed to be caught up in a fervency of prayer and revival. If Finney discovered any “cooling down” toward Christ, he would go to their homes to pray and council with them. At night great meetings, with hundreds of conversions, were held into the early morning hours. Finney’s practice, after a few hours rest, was to go to the church early every morning and intercede for the community. Other members soon joined him as they, too, sought the Lord. But it wasn’t long before the others began to not show up. So Finney would wake up in time to go around to their houses and wake them up and they would have a precious season of prayer, at the church, together.
